About Me

I'm the proud mommy of two amazing little girls, a blessed wife, classical ballet instructor/former ballerina, and I'll be graduating with my BA in political science in December and attending law school in 2011. I survived a night with a man who raped, choked, and assaulted me over a period of 5 hours (this was 5 weeks after my first daughter was born 2 1/2 months premature and in the NICU) leading me to suffer severely from PTSD for 2 years. I want to use my voice and the knowledge I will gain in my legal education to defend the rights of women and children against violence, and change the system that perpetuates bias and inaccuracies which allow violence to continue, and perpetrators to walk free. The louder our voices get, the smaller violence will become.....until it disappears!

About Me

Faith At Works Production presents Altogether One Project

(A Rebuilding of the Community…he’s able)

I am formulating a fullevening work entitled "Job” The work will be created with the partnership of faith-based organizations, artists, musicians, sharing throughmusic, drama, spoken word, and dance a very powerful declaration of no more sexual violence.

Every two minutes, sexual violence rips through the community and causes destruction in more than just one life. During this time not only is a woman’s life forever changed by violence, but the effects touch the family and friends in her life with this violence negatively impacting the whole community.

At the Tampa Crisis Center, they see daily the awful toll that sexual assaults and rape take not only on the victim, but upon the lives of the men and women who love them. I know first hand as well because on April 10, 2012 my beautyful baby daughter was viciously attacked at 11 am in Copeland Park shattering and changing our lives forever.

As a mother and artist I can not await our governments to do something.  I am appealing to all artist to come together with me to rebuild the community and take back the streets, cities, nights, days forever for our children. So that the following statistics will no longer impact our lives.
